The stories written in our community workshops will be edited by us in collaboration with the groups. Sarah, Becky and Erin will also write a story which will unite and give to context to the individual pieces provided by communities.
All of the stories will be performed either by the writers themselves or local actors and recorded by Kitty Turner and King Sound Studios.
We will be using binaural sound in some of the recordings to make the experience more immersive. However, we want to explore how binaural sound might affect those living with dementia and even how it may be used as a catalyst for creation in our workshops.
Once recorded the sound will be compressed for a purpose built app, built by our partners AT Creative. AT Creative have years of experience making audio trail apps for national organisations, including wildlife groups and they have also produced an app for a train before.
The app will work by pinging GPS triggered stories onto people's phones and into their ears as they approach an area or landscape that story is about - this might be as obvious Kirkstall Abbey for instance, or Ingelborough and less obvious, such as a field where something important happened to someone, or a peat bog, high above the train line.
More information about GPS and app technology will follow soon.
